I decided to become a teacher because of my passion in coaching. My experience in coaching provided clarity as to why I want to be a teacher and help build my confidence on how I want to develop myself as a future educator. Because of coaching, I am able to grow more passionate for teaching which fuel my interest in wanting to continue to pursue this field. Through my experience working with children, I realized that I genuinely enjoy motivating and encouraging children to learn and develop their skills. I enjoy being a part of the learning experience and helping them to attain their goals. I want to not only help students set goals, but also celebrate with them when they accomplish their goals. I want to be a teacher to inspire children to take an interest in school and positively impact their life. Moreover, I find teaching very interesting because each day brings a different challenge and different outcome. Each child is different; each has their own unique personalities, interest, abilities and needs. This inspired me to be creative to find ways to differentiate and accommodate students according to their own individual needs. Even though teaching can be difficult and challenging, it is extremely rewarding. It is gratifying to see children grow and achieve success. Also, teacher gets to build a strong relationship with students and influence the student to become successful adults in which inspire me to pursue teaching.
Describe the Teacher I want to be
As a future physical educator, I believe that student is the most important. In my opinion, students should be educated, encourage and assist to expand their physical fitness. Over my experiences with coaching, sports, and outdoor activities, I have learned that not everyone learns the same way, some learn in their own unique ways. I have realized that adapting and adjusting to the needs of others will be one of the most valuable assets in teaching. Therefore, the lesson plan should be adaptive so that all skill levels and learning capacities are accommodated. As becoming a physical education teacher, I want to promote goal setting, teamwork, respect, and responsibility. I want to encourage my students to be engaging in a wide variety of physical activity and choose a healthy lifestyle that fits their interest. I hope to provide an opportunity for my students to find enjoyment in physical activity by sharing my passion and knowledge about sports and physical activities. My objective as a physical educator is to make students feel excited and eager coming to class and to make my class enjoyable as possible. At the same time, one of my priority is to strive for a safe and comfortable environment. This way it will encourage the student to participate and be more involved in curriculum and physical activity. Since students learn in various ways, I believe that individual assessments are ideal to understand the student’s strength and weakness. This way I can deliver the curriculum through effective teaching strategies and effectively evaluate. Therefore, I can focus more on strengthening their weaknesses and give appropriate feedback based on student needs. I also want to teach a lesson that encourages the students to be open. I want to do various activities to expand their knowledge and interest in activities. This will also allow students to work with their peers, develop stronger communications and create bonds from one another. As a teacher, I want to provide a lesson plan that can help students progress and be motivated to choose a healthy lifestyle. I want my priority to be about students having fun, feeling heard and comfortable around me. I plan to teach students the importance of being active in life and teach a wide variety of activities to expose the students to more than just the typical. Like I said earlier, as a physical educator the student is the most important aspect
